Anyway, this is The Sound of Them.

This is our Strathspey and Reel set, this time starting with Marivan of Vanarach, which you might know as Lady Mackenzie of Gerlach.

Yeah, great playing on a lovely sounding instrument.

Rachel Gray from Edinburgh there with her Strathspeys and Reels from the Rassy Restitution.

She started with Mary Vanna Vannerach or Lady Mackenzie of Gerloch.

We'll continue on with Olivia Barrett, the fiddler from the west coast of Canada who studied at the University of Limerick and who released her fine debut recording, Elsewhere, in 2024.

From that great record, we'll hear a J. Scott Skinner Strathspey, the Miller of Drone, and two reels, Palmer's Gate and Laura's Reel.

Along with Olivia on fiddle, we'll hear Adrian Dolan on mandola, piano and percussion, and Adam Dobris on acoustic guitar.

We'll follow that with a tribute to the late Glenn Hensard, right after Olivia Barrett on The Kitchen Party Kaylee.

Dervish there, the mighty fine band from Sligo, as joined by singer and guitarist Glenn Hansard, as part of Dervish singer Kathy Jordan's project, The Great Irish Songbook, and in particular, Volume 2, Poets and Storytellers.

We heard Leave a Light On, our tribute to Glenn, who died in a motorcycle crash on July 29th.

Before that, we had Olivia Barrett on a medley of The Miller of Drone, Palmer's Gate, and Laura's Reel, from her 2024 debut, Elsewhere.

We've time for one more track before the finale, and we'll look ahead to next week when we begin our four-part Celtic Colors preview.

That was the Strathspey and Reel set we just heard there.

Margaret Mary Findlay's was the first one, one of his own tunes.

Then Monlochy Bridge, Maggie Cameron and Millen do, Cailin Pudding and Camberlough do, Miss Girdle and Sonia and Peter's Wedding Reel, another of his own making.

And before that, we heard his jigs, The Road to Calanish, The Taylor's Wedding and Peebroch Gone Louie.

And next, we're going to Eilish, Sutherland, also from the east coast of Scotland or heading towards the coast anyway.

What great playing, isn't it? From Cameron McNeill from Cape Breton, and the audience loved that too.

His suspense and reels from the Rassay contest, beginning with Glenthilt Lodge, the editor's favourite.

Uh, rounding off that set of Strathspeys and reels with three of his own tunes, "Room 35," "The Road to Benderloch," and "Dr.

Neil Bennett's Reel." His p-broch in the middle there was one of the nameless ones, Cheride Dariavia.

And at the start he played a couple of jigs, The Old Wife of the Mill Dust and Skye, composed by Fred Morrison for the late great Skye Reichendiffer of the Celtic Arts Foundation.

My good friends over there, we miss Skye very much.

She also plays with the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes and Drums as well.

So she's done her fair share of playing in those kinds of military contexts.

I'm going to play her Strathspeys and Reels shortly.
