Straight away I'll understand does my brain like that session, do I wanna get more deep dive in it, or does it not interest me at all? And or it's I've just watched a session on a feature or a product, or talked to a vendor about a product they have.

Like, I love talking to the Redgate team about everything they're doing.

And then I can go, ah, put that in the Rolodex for when you're at customer sites and they come across a challenge.

I'm like, ooh, I remember seeing this.

Rubrik was a vendor at an event.

I saw their stuff, I came back to Australia, I'm like, "Hey, we should consider Rubrik." And we ended up looking into having Rubrik as part of our infrastructure stack.

It's the same as Redgate.

I work with customers and they use Redgate.

And whether you work for someone else or run your own business, there are times you aren't completely in control of the work and you probably wonder how you ended up in whatever situation you're in.

I've worked for myself and currently I have an amazing job as an advocate and architect with Redgate Software.

I get to travel all over the world.

I get to talk about AI readiness, DevOps, database change management, database intelligence, and of course, random SQL Server stuff.

I'm really grateful Redgate supports me in doing that last one.

And usually it's a lot of fun, but at times it can be hard.

Now, if you see me not engaging at an event, it might be that I've been on the road a lot while still having plenty of other work commitments to manage.

I'm a PostgreSQL advocate for Redgate Software.

I am here with Hari Karin, and we're going to chat a little bit about technology, what he's done, how he's got started, and everything else.

We're at PG Day Hyderabad in Hyderabad.

So, Hari, go ahead and tell us about yourself.

How did you get started in PostgreSQL? Tell us about yourself first.

First of all, thank you, Pat and the Redgate team.

My name is Hari Kiran.

I've dealt with a lot of customers lately who are concerned with the ROI of their teams.

Now, certainly they want a good ROI from the software they purchased from Redgate or any other vendor, but so do we.

Our goal at Redgate is always to be partners with our customers and continue to add value to the products they've purchased on a regular basis.

We release every week or two, and our Redgate Monitor and Flyway updates reflect this.

I've linked those in the editorial, and you can check them out.

We have new functionality, fixes, previews, and I am proud of the constant set of updates that we deliver.

Now, there are lots of metrics that Dora produces about DevOps and software delivery, and I've linked an article from them in the editorial.

These can be applied to database code, though I often find that companies adopting these metrics don't extend them to the database.
