According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosalind Ashford, an original member of Martha and the Vandellas, has died at 83 years old.

The Detroit native died Tuesday of natural causes in Redford Township, Michigan.

Ashford helped shape the sound of Motown, singing on classics including Dancing in the Street, Heat Wave, Jimmy Mack, Quicksand, Nowhere to Run, and I'm Ready for Love.

She joined Annette Beard and Gloria Williams in the Delphi's before Martha Reeves became part of the group.

Now this, with the sweet smell of pumpkin spice lingering in the air, there is a battle playing out on a lawn in Redford, which pits a homeowner's Halloween display against a township's zoning rule.

This is going to be played out in a township in a city near you, I'm sure.
