Well, years ago, uh, probably 26, 27 years ago, Jim Pfluger called me and wanted me to be on the board.

So I was a member of the board of directors of, of the Ranching Heritage Center.

And I was so intrigued with it, and, uh, I still am.

I think it's the most wonderful institution in the world about an industry that we dearly love.

It's called ranching.

And so [clears throat] I got a call one day from two of my buddies, uh, Tony Spears and, and, uh, Larry Hobbs, and they invited me to meet them at the country club in Waco to talk about a project they had in mind.

Are there a, are there, uh, memories or stories from those days when you benefited from other poets who, you know, helped you kinda find your voice and, and find your way and, uh, polish your work?
