okay that one is that one is probably the most loser core because the character in that is like the worst person in in the world um Actually, I remember like it came out the same year as that movie, the Swedish movie, the Norwegian movie, The Worst Person in the World.

And A.S. Homra in his review of Red Rocket, he was like, this is about the actual worst person in the world.

And it's played by Simon Rex, who was like an MTV VJ.

And then he like fell from grace and did like porn and then came back.

She's kind of just after money and she's this tripper and it's like, okay, you know, we've all seen this kind of thing before.

Sorry, who? Sean Baker, the guy who made like Enora and Red Rocket.

yeah, right, right.

I think, I think Club Kid was maybe the surprise of the festival for me in a, in a few ways.

Both, I kinda, I don't know why, I, I guess I was kind of expecting something like Red Rocket a few years ago at Telluride, just something very sex driven because everything I had heard [laughs] was mostly that.

But it is such an emotional, uh, film about, you know, fatherhood and, and maturing.

And I think that is what won the Telluride audience over because that, above anything else, is what I heard about from, uh, strangers on gondola rides or waiting in line.

Dalton still out there? I was just going to say.

The Red Rocket? The Red Rocket still out there? Yeah, he is.

He'd be on the trade market.

You need stability.

Certainly there are aspects of that that feel very Wilder-esque.

And gosh, you know, even like going back to like Red Rocket or something, right? Like, you know, in a weird way, like this mismatched couple and a protege.

And yeah, maybe he's, and maybe he's truly the heir of that because he has reinvented it and made his own so thoroughly.

Yeah.

Yeah, a lot of hustlers, a lot of people, like, fooling themselves, fooling others.

I mean, that is a big part of both Onora and Red Rocket.

I mean, Onora is definitely kidding herself.

She knows better, but she's going along for the ride, probably trying to milk it for all it's worth, potentially.

Or the Houston area.

Uh, in fact, uh, we're doing this video podcast and you could probably see on the wall behind me, uh, the movie red rocket, which was a Sean Baker's film that he made, uh, His film right before he made a Nora, which won four Academy Awards, but this one Red Rocket was filmed all up and down the coast just outside of Houston.

And so that's and it was in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021, 2021, I believe.

A number of titles.

But when you're visiting international festivals and so on, such as Cannes, which is the biggest one in the world, What are you doing?

Yeah.

So what we've done the past – well, going back to – well, before Red Rocket, the first year I went to Cannes was in 2019 because we helped an independent – a small independent feature, debut independent feature called Bull – A filmmaker named Annie Silverstein.

This was her debut feature.

And then, oh, Sean Baker's movie came out.

It's called Red Rocket that he made with A24.

Okay.

And then there's like an Oscar winner, Drive My Car.

Yeah, I mean, it could have been.

One directed by Sean Penn is the closest thing that the mainstream movie that, you know, the American mainstream movie that ever competed there.

I heard the name Red Rocket, but that's another one.

Now, Aaron.

Like I would say like whenever he's in a movie, I'm like, I appreciate it.

Yeah, Red Rocket.

He's really great in and I just appreciate his type of humor.

Like he goes for it in his movies.
