Next on my list is one that I think a few of you guys have actually recommended to us as well for a Book Rick of the Week, second book.

First book that I want to recommend is Divine Rival by Rebecca Ross.

And then I think there's two more since then.

So I read this one a little bit ago, but it's so like, I just remember it being, again, it's that whole like sepia tone filter on your life as you're reading it.

I'm not reading on tour because I usually, when I sit down, I shut my brain off.

But I'm a big Rebecca Ross fan.

I have her upcoming book that I'm reading right now, Bittersweet Spells.

Yes, very good.

I mean, I love Rebecca Ross.

Everything she writes is amazing.

I recently went on a bit of a trip to, like, The Calm Before the Storm, and I read a Poirot novel on that.

You can tell in her writing that like music is important to the author because of the themes it comes up.

Reminds me a lot of Rebecca Ross.

Like there's a lot, there's a big over line theme of music in the books.

And I, I just, I love it when you have those things that you can tell, like they weave in that like bring like beauty and depth into the writing and you can tell like how important music is to her.

Yeah.

Um, but a couple that were not a part of that, yesterday Rebecca Ross announced her new book.

Mm.

Yep, I just saw that.

This is Wednesday, September 2nd.

[laughs] So it's already out.

So by the, by the time it comes out, you can go look at Rebecca Ross's Instagram, and I'm sure it's beautiful.

Mm-hmm.

So she's somebody who really struggles with that, especially with her background.

I think of it as readers for Deborah Harkness, Rebecca Ross, Alex Harrow, all of them.

And it was actually inspired by this Celtic myth about the story of Mish, this book.

Yes.

So I did the whole trilogy partly because they all became available at the same time.

I'm in the middle of the Divine Rivals duology by Rebecca Ross.

She's like kind of mashing up everything.

It's like a romance novel and a fantasy novel and a war story that's kind of World War I, but somehow there's magic.

Well, you know, and I mean, like, music is such a component in her books in general.

We've talked about this before, how her books, as well as Rebecca Ross, have, like, a very music feel to them.

Like, it's a reoccurring theme.

I literally think we bring this up in almost every episode.
