Rayshawn Pleasant

I mean, those should have been your starting corners.

Rayshawn Pleasant stayed.

He was at Auburn last year.

He was kind of their number three corner.

Hopefully we can get that type of pressure.

But if Rayshawn Pleasant gets one, he ain't stopping.

He's not stopping.

We had

I have been throwing the cornerback's names out there.

You know, when it comes to Andre Jordan Jr., when it comes to Rayshawn Pleasant, maybe you get Gavin Jenkins in the mix.

That has been something that we've seen over the last couple weeks, but still.

Dre has been really good on the boundary to the point where I feel very confident with him on the boundary.

Kind of a position group that's been wishy-washy for, you know, lack of a better word this year.

I mean, Rayshawn Pleasant's looked really good, but you've also had You've had some other guys that have not looked great.

Like, you've had some other guys that have not looked great.

Now, last week, everybody looked great.

Do the work to do the work, and it will result in wins.

And then you even hear Rayshawn Pleasant on Tuesday say something similar where after practice, he said, we're a program built on work, not success.

Obviously, they wanna succeed.

What he's saying is, it's about the work.

You know, let, let's do our job.

Uh, I will say on- That side of the ball and in that position group specifically, a bright spot for me has been Rayshawn Pleasant.

I-

Rayshawn Pleasant's the best corner on this team, and I, you know-

Yeah

... before the season started I was thinking maybe he was-

You know, a lot of people talking about how Jared Curtis from Vanderbilt dropped those two just dimes in on him, and I'm like, "Look, that wasn't from bad defense."

No. That's-

He's been kinda getting picked on by a lot of quarterbacks.

Um, I actually think Rayshawn Pleasant has been really good in our secondary.

But Andre Jordan, he's gotta step up.

You know, he came out, uh, against Southern Miss and had those two interceptions.

I don't think corner play has been particularly great.

I think Ra- uh, Rayshawn Pleasant's been really good.

I think Champ Anthony and Andre Jordan Jr. have been okay at outside corner.

Yeah.

He's exceeded my expectations.

And that's been Rayshawn Pleasant.

Rayshawn Pleasant has clearly been the best cornerback on this football team for the Auburn Tigers.

And it's not because the other ones, like, I mean, the bar isn't as high as I would like it to be if we're being 100% honest, but he's been good.

He's been good.

Rayshawn Pleasant has been legitimately a good SEC corner so far this season.

And I kind of questioned it.

I almost argued at times, or I did argue at times of like, hey, maybe Gavin Jenkins pushes him.
