Raymond Ackerman

He came on the very first hospitality program at our youth skill center, 2016.

Today he's a, a branch manager at Pick n Pay, Raymond Ackerman's Pick n Pay, and doing exceptionally well.

Oh, wow.

You know, those are the type of stories that make it so inspiring.

If you look at private banking, I mean, the investor guys went overseas, you know, they saw private banking overseas and they brought it back to South Africa.

So, yeah, even Raymond Ackerman tells a story.

He went on a tour, well, told the story, went on a tour to the States and brought back, you know, big retail.

So I think, you know, and you don't have to be such a huge entrepreneur as those.

Well, I started the Beacon Post School of Cooking and it was great and I could cook what I liked.

I was told by Raymond Ackerman in those days, please just teach customers how to cook.

There was no TV.

Even books were not very many.

This guy preaching, and he's a very competent guy, got a big business.

And he preached about meeting, or he spoke about meeting Raymond Ackerman and Whitey Besson from Checkers, Pick and Pay and Checkers.

He did this amazing survey between Pick and Pay and Checkers and how Checkers, through leadership, has taken over and how it's much bigger than Pick and Pay now.

But he said he walked into Whitey Besson's office and he said, good morning, sir.
