Ray Brown & the Whispers

And we're gonna keep with the fifties sorta happy days rock vibe with the next couple of tunes that we have.

And the next up we have is Ray Brown & The Whispers.

[singing] Oh when you out with another guy how it hurts my pride.

Oh you'll never know how it hurts me so way down deep inside.

They had many frequent appearances on TV, which helped promote the band as well.

We played one of their early hits, uh, that popular surfy tune, Hangin' 5 from 1963.

And started that group of three with Ray Brown & the Whispers, and they were a really successful early Oz pop rock band in the mid to late '60s.

Their first four singles reached number one on the Oz charts, and they had three hit albums as well.
