Incredible, isn't it? And, you know, down, because I was down at Ravensthorpe, the amount of Everlastings in Ravensthorpe is amazing in the fits and all around the ranges.

And just here near the ABC, I see the local council harvesting their everlasting seeds so they can plant again next year.

The family really lives around this fictional place called Jebel Up.

This, I believe, is modelled very much on Ravensthorpe on the southern coast of Western Australia, a place really infamous for, you know, the brutal killing of Aboriginal people.

And this is a place you have a very strong connection to, right?

It speaks of agency and it speaks of... of unshackling oneself, casting off the restraints that legislation and ways of looking at the world and ways of being in the world and what the language carries and contains of those sort of things.

Yes, I was working to change that.

I was also struck by the fact that, you know, these generations of this family living in this place, Gebelab, modelled on Ravensthorpe, a place that seemed determined...

But having just come back from the Ravensthorpe Wildflower Festival, oh, my Lord.

Number one, the community that put that show together was They've got over 280 volunteers.

So well, I was just down at Ravensthorpe, uh, with, uh, Sab on the weekend, and, uh, this one's a local down there.

This one's the r- the Ravensthorpe radish or yolk, and this one grows like a potato underneath the ground, and it gets quite big, you know, like potato-like size.

But because it belongs to the Apiaceae family, it tastes like a carrot.

So looks like a potato, tastes like a carrot.

And, and you sing to them too.

But, uh, yeah, a little heat mat for the plants.

In fact, down at Ravensthorpe, um, we went to a dinner and actually saw people with heat, um, jackets.

A 72-year-old man has died in a motorcycle crash at Ravensthorpe.

His bike colliding with a car on South Coast Highway.

The motorcyclist died at the scene while the 71-year-old driver of the car escaped injury.
