Now, Coleman Octor's up next and we're talking about that ad that was pulled by the Rape Crisis Centre in Dublin where the grandchildren meet the grandparents and it's about consent.

And we will be talking about things of an adult nature and things that might be triggering for some people.

So just be aware of that.

But yeah, obviously, as stories evolve, I'd be happy to come on and talk about them when they happen.

So just a reminder, it was one of three social media ads put out in mid-September by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.

And then people, as they saw it, began to react immediately.

Now Arthur, you weren't happy, as a lot of people weren't, about that video which was subsequently pulled.

This was the video in relation to consent which was put on social media channels by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and it featured grandparents arriving at their grandchildren's house and one of the grandchildren not too keen about the grandmother's attempt to hug her.

It received a lot of criticism, as we know, not least from our Justice Minister, Jim O'Callaghan.

The ad was removed.

I was so upset when I seen it.

And I didn't, it just, it dawned on me.

And I says, why would the Rape Crisis Centre try and drive a wedge into family values? Because that's exactly what it is.

Now, I know myself that there's children that's autistic out there and there's children that's autistic and other little problems and they don't like being touched.

A very understandably huge negative reaction to it.

It was run by the Rape Crisis Centre on the basis of publicising the concept of consent.

But I think there's a general consensus that it was inappropriate.

It's the most neutral word you could use for it.

Now, in the context of that ad, you mentioned NGOs and the Rape Crisis Centre would be an NGO.

But you made, just to quote you briefly, there is now it seems nothing that the far left feel the state should not regulate, including normal family relationships.

We might dismiss this as a thoughtless and zealous group pushing an agenda, but it is far from thoughtless.

It is planned.

I don't know why you go on about the significance of the age of the grandchild.

It was the Rape Crisis Centre and a few other groups that decided on the ad.

The government didn't like it and pulled it.

So the government actually did the right thing for a change, says Geraldine.

But again, my story is around childhood abuse.

Do you know what I mean? And do you know what

did the Rape Crisis Centre say as to the reasons why they did then pull it? Do we know?

They said that they pulled it and I understand that because it got such negative... interaction online.

ad, now there's no point in me explaining.

You all know about the story about the stupid ad that was put out by the Rape Crisis Centre, by the government, Coon, and who's the other, We Consent, or whatever they call it, some other NGO or state agency, right? Complete waste of money.

And all it did was basically say that Granny was a bad person.

Grandparents hold a very special place in Irish life.

But these figures looming over the child and it was wrong.

And my other difficulty with it as well, it was, you know, the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, that there was a conflation between a hug, which is a non-sexual hug, and the whole notion of sexual consent as well.

Because of the agency that was doing it.

And I think there was a little merging of both concepts and they should be clearly delineated from other because we're talking about two very different things.

Is that the right way to phrase it? They are not just...

When everyone thinks of campaigns, they think, oh, it's this one rogue agency or another.

When you look at who's behind We Consent, there's COON, there's Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, there's the department themselves.

There's various groups in this.
