MAGA Republicans in the House Ways and Means Committee are stepping up their attacks on Breakthrough News.

Now they're threatening to individually subpoena and depose Rania Khalek, Zoe Alexandra and Amanda Yee and other journalists from our outlet.

Rania, Zoe and Amanda work around the clock to do critical reporting on the entire world from West Africa, sorry, West Asia to Africa, across the Americas and Asia.

Yet Representative Smith now wants to drag the reporters back to Washington, D.C. Rania usually lives in Lebanon, and I guess they'd be demanding she come back to D.C. Our lawyers already provided a comprehensive reply to the House committee in August, pointing out how their demands were unconstitutional.

And in response to that, now the House Ways and Means Committee is targeting individual journalists with Breakthrough News.

So, uh, Zoe Alexandra, Rania Khalek, and Amanda Yee have now been named personally and may be called into Congress.

Uh, this, you know, this all goes back to, like, the days of the, uh, McCarthyism and the House Un-American Activities, uh, Committee basically trying to target, uh, independent media that don't toe the state line and, uh, and trying to repress them.

And I think that this is what really has set them apart from other alternative media outlets that are connected to the network, like Breakthrough News, for example.

which is connected to Rania Khalek, who has a very long history of supporting the Syrian regime, working for Russian media, right? And this is what really made, I think, Belly of the Beast, it set them apart, that it was young Cuban journalists.

In the very beginning, Liz Oliva, who was the main presenter, didn't even speak any English, right? So it felt very authentic.

But you can tell, you know, they interview civilians, but it's always, they're never really critical.
