Yeah, so before we kind of dive into the background of our organizations and that birthday, why don't you tell us a little bit about your journey into conservation and what led you to the National Walleye Federation?

So I was a Ranger Rick kid growing up.

And so my mom was a school teacher and we got the magazine and kind of did all the activities outdoors.

And I often tell the story about sending away for the packet of milkweed seeds.

how do we kind of replace that screen time with green time? And that could be hunting and fishing, which would be great.

It also could just be walking through a woods and playing in a park, right? Just, but this idea that getting out of the digital environment, out of kind of a virtual world into a natural world is probably the most important thing we can do.

And Ranger Rick's a big part of that for us.

We're in about 15,000 schools.

You know, it's tricky because, you know, some owls are scavengers and both owls and bears are carnivores.

Ranger Rick's didn't get a lot into this part of it because it is, in fact, I'll remind you, for children.

Probably what would have been included in Ranger Rick's because part of this is prevention of harm.

Owlbear's like won't attack somebody they perceive as threatening unless there is a threat like their child being left alone and you all coming upon it was probably a great enough threat if these people came by when it was in its cave with its cub then it it would not have drawn attention like it would not have sought to uh to raise the ire of people that could fight back
