And then it decreased to underneath a minute after that first ascent.

A few riders held on from that breakaway, but were eventually swept up with Belgium still leading the way with the likes of Van Wilder, Quentin Hermans, De Bruyne, Van Hills, etc.

They went through a few ascents and then I think it was on the penultimate ascent where we've seen Belgium still just riding on the front a lot.

Lots of people getting shelled out the back, including Pedersen, who'd kind of yo-yoed off the back and come back on through the flat bit where a little bit of a lull in the pace setting.

They kind of got disrupted by Italy with Ulysses.

Jan Christen attacked and then Belgium paced back Jan Christen looked like they were just setting a hard tempo then Remco attacks off the back of that within the last 500 meters of the climb or he was following the attack of Ciccone actually that's what he was doing and then immediately just counter-attacked around him and I thought oh it looked like Remco was just gonna launch it and just nobody was gonna see him again and that would have been the case however he crashed on the right hand 90 degree corner at the top of the climb where he was going at some rate at that point and yeah came down which was very much to the surprise of Ramses De Bruyne and Maxi Van Hills who then went past him and did a bit of a double take going what? what Remco shaped size person was that just on the floor so they then had to pace him back on Ciccone was still out front at this point but kind of soft tapping because he realizes that the you know 12k worth of flat through the finish line to get to the climb again just wasn't going to work for him so everything gets reabsorbed Belgium once again get back onto the front and order is kind of resumed again And then we get on the descent just before the descent starts properly.

It kind of plateaus and Remco just launches an attack again, clearly not wanting to wait for the last descent.

Anyway, I didn't realise I didn't mention his team.

Alongside Avianapool was also Yenna Berkmoz, Ramses De Bruyne, who was very, very good in the Vuelta, Quentin Hermans, Maxi Van Hills, Elan Van Vilder, Louis Vivaca and Sander De Pestel.

So it's a really good squad.

I think it looks pretty all in around Remco and I just got to hope that he gets some better legs than what he had on the World Champs.
