And within wool alone, you could spend years exploring the differences between merino and BFL, which is blue-faced Leicester, and Corridale, and Shetland, and Rambouillet.

Each breed of sheep produces different fleece, different fiber length, different crimp, different handle.

That's the word for how it feels in the hand, the handle.
