so we knew Ralphie May was coming in.

This, and this is at the beginning of his career before he was gigantic.

[laughs] Bobby's-

[laughs] Bobby, he's like Ralphie May.

He's a principal.

He shows up once a year.

It's, uh, the, uh, the, uh, widow of Ralphie May, and-

... she talked, talked about-

... on every end that you can think of.

Ralphie May had this joke about his grandma, and it's like, "We can't put her in a nursing home.

We gotta keep that fudge going," you know? It's like, "We gotta just tell her it's Christmas all year round.

So Jay, I've known you for many years.

Uh, I met you through Ralphie May, and, uh, you, aside from being a phenomenal comedian, have had both Mark and I at your phenomenal shows at Yamashiro.

Oh, yeah.

Um-

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

I, you know, I used to open for Ralphie May for years, and, um, and I would do well.

And at one point, Ralphie said to me, he goes, "You know, I've had a few people tell me not to use you as my opener anymore, 'cause you do too well before I go on."

And some of the guys that I worked with.

I worked with Ralphie May and, uh, you know, I learned from him.

So like, you know, I pick and, I pick from all the, my favorite comedians and I kinda, you know, just geese of influence to see how they did it.

Like, okay, now how do I make it my own kinda thing.
