Moving on to our second story, Cloudflare to become public certificate authority.

Cloudflare has announced plans to become a public certificate authority that will issue both traditional certificates and post-quantum Merkle tree certificates or MTCs.

The format isn't a Cloudflare original.

Chrome is building its post-quantum plans around MTCs, and the format is being standardized at the IETF through, though it is still a draft.

And I think that's a very important research area right now.

Yeah, and obviously hashing methods are probably rock solid, and the Merkle tree is going to be the answer.

SyncsPlus onto SLHDSA uses the Merkle trees, and I see even... public key cryptography is moving towards Merkle Tree, that the Merkle Tree can prove all of the public keys that are within their domain.

So perhaps I think companies need to think if it's a five to ten year horizon for security, then hashing based methods are probably the best to use.

Hashing base is great, but we don't believe you can get public key cryptography only based on hash functions.

Yeah.

And we moved from stateful.

So with these hash trees, we could create a thousand private keys and then we could hash up to the Merkle root.
