How did you break in? I understand you were a letter writer before being a pro.

Yes, I was a letter hack, and I went to one comic book convention in 1975.

I wanted to meet Jack Kirby, and I got a book signed by him.

And as I was leaving the convention, I was just about to walk out, and somewhere in the lobby, I heard somebody mention the name Black Panther.

So I said, oh, I turned around, and it was Don McGregor.

And I went over to see him, and he recognized me from having written a lot of letters to The Panther and to Kill Raven, the other book that he wrote.

And he asked me to stay for a while.

... um, and, um, so I think that was, you know, he had two, he had a longer movie, you either follow the Curtis brothers or you go up to the church in Windricksville and, you know, fortunately for me at that point I was in all that stuff.

But- but on the- on the flip side you lost the brothers and you lost that beautiful scene that you- you- you have and- and, um, and so it- it's- it's great.
