Rak'a

Dhuhr prayer, the obligatory dhifard, is four rakah.

And the Raka'ah means a unit of prayer.

The next Salah is Salatul Af.

And it begins from the end of the Dhuhr time until sunset.

So the two Sunnah rakats before the Fajr Salah, they hold an exceptionally high position.

Said Aisha radiallahu anha narrates it, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "Rakatel Fajri khairun mina dunya wa ma fiha" the two rakats of Fajr are better than the world and everything in it, and this is in Sahih Muslim.

And she also said, "Lam yakul Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ala shay'in mina nawafil ashaddun minhu taahudan ala rakatil Fajr." Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was not more particular about any voluntary Salah than the two rakats of Fajr.

So according to the Hanafi school that if a person misses both the Fajr salah, the fard, and the sunnah, and makes up the Fajr salah before Zuhr on the same day, he should make up the two sunnah rakats together with the fard salah.

And then he said, and he made it amazing, you know, Muawwala said, we Allah give him, Allah elevate his status.

He said, every rak'at, any ummati makes till the day of Qiyamat.

Every cent of zakat he gives.

Every moment he spends in roza, in fasting.

Alongside this, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala tells us to ask Him for guidance every single day.

In our Salawat, in every single one of our Raka'at, we read Surah Al-Fatiha.

Allah Ta'ala says, "Ihдина الصراط المستقيم".

O Allah, guide us to the straight path, right? We have the Kitabullah, we have the Quran, we have the Sunnah of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, we have our righteous ones, the ones who have passed and the ones who are with us today.

But alongside that, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala teaches us, "Continue to ask of Me.

Continue to ask for guidance." Ihدنا الصراط المستقيم.

Every single day, every single Raka'at of our Salah, we are reminded to make this Du'a, and even after the Salah, we make this Du'a.

صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم "The path of those upon whom You have showered Your favors." غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين "The path that is not the path of those who have incurred Your anger, the ones who have incurred Your wrath." ولا الضالين "And those who have went astray." So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala sent two aids for all of mankind.

Okay?

And if you want to pray most of the night, then lengthen each raka'ah.

So instead of the raka'ah only taking, let's say, 20 minutes or half an hour, let it take 45 minutes or an hour.

Because if you pray like that, then you have prayed most of the night.

And some of the salats of the Prophet ﷺ, right, who when he prayed only a few days in jama'ah in the last 10 of Ramadan, he prayed a lengthy salah.

After finishing from Surah Al-Fatiha, he would recite another chapter passage from the Qur'an.

And usually the first verse, Raka'ah is longer, right? A long passage.

And then in the second Raka'ah, it would be a shorter one.

So that's the Sunnah.

First Raka'ah is longer in recitation than the second one.

Overall, Rasulullah ﷺ is narrated to recite anywhere between 60 to 100 verses in the Fajr prayer.

Okay? And Allah tells us in the Qur'an about the importance of the recitation of Qur'an in the Fajr prayer.

And he used to lead them in Salat.

And you know what he used to do? Every single rak'ah, he would say, Allahu Akbar.

Recite Surah Al-Fatiha.

He'd recite a surah.

And then before he goes into ruku'ah, he'd recite, قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ And then ruku' and every rak'ah he'd do this.

He'd finish what he wants to read.

The companions started picking him up until he did this for Al-Maghrib, Al-Isha, Al-Buhar, Al-Asr, Al-Fajr.

That is the Book, there is no doubt in it, a guide to the right path.

that's how slow it would have had to be for the prophet to recite you know recite in a way that you can count the letters that he's reciting and the prophet we would recite and recite and recite you know in one hadith he says one sahabi he was with the prophet and he joined him for tahajjud and he says he read the whole of the whole of Nisa and Al Imran in one Rakaat.

You can imagine this is like a sixth of the Qur'an, one sixth of the Qur'an.

It's like five Juz of the Qur'an that Prophet is reciting in just one Rakaat.

Allah gave him a lot of blessings in a time.

And then his Ruku would be the same as his standing and the length of that would be same as standing.
