Rainbow Road

We're going to go through.

I got some updates this week, some patch notes, as it were, because there was some uh info from last week's episode on mario kart 64 as much as i rambled about that there was some stuff i wanted to go off on talking a little bit more about that the mario kart speed runners Some of the tricks those guys do, I mentioned like the speed running records per kind of like person and then the skip slash no skip as far as jumping over walls and the kind of Rainbow Road level skips.

But some of the things that come along with the Mario Kart 64 speed runs and the RNG of the items is...

It makes speed running a whole nother kind of contest.

Think hard about this one.

In Mario Kart Wii, if you finish Rainbow Road in reverse, you unlock a special course.

Rainbow Road Zero.

Hmm.

It's one that not everyone knows about.

Okay.

I'd say that's definitely not true.

Like if you do it, you won't unlock Rainbow Road, whatever.

That's amazing.

So my knowledge of Mario Kart is limited, and my favorite track is Rainbow Road because that's where you go when you die.

And number two, when you're in a tickle fight, what is your signature move? Offense or defense?

Offense.

And get ready to test the limits of your group's friendship.

How did it feel making that jump from the Super Nintendo to the 64? Why did Wario replace Koopa Troopa in the roster? And did anyone waste a lot of time trying to perfect that shortcut jump on Rainbow Road? Maybe we'll answer some of those questions.

But he's Mario's biggest rival and always a typical heavyweight character.

As far as the manual, it's got everything you need.

There's also a really big Mario Kart Player's Guide with all your tips and tricks, your shortcuts, where to power slide... which walls to jump over in Rainbow Road, Wario Stadium's got the glitchy shortcut.

There's other regular intended shortcuts like Koopa Troopa Beach.

So you do have Donut Plains, Chaco Island, Bowser's Castle, the ghost houses become Ghost Valley, Vanilla Lake from the Vanilla Zone or whatever it's called in that game.

And even the Rainbow Road, there's like a special star road that is a super hard thing to unlock in Mario World.

So I appreciate that.

I think it's cool that they...

But my first time I was like, God, let me just even just fourth.

I don't care.

I just want to I just want to see Rainbow Road, which is the final track, of course.

And man, something about Donut Plains 3, it has such tight corners and it has water that you can fall into.

There's a lot of atmosphere created with the different varieties of levels, which I love about this game.

And then we have the ultimate, the final race in the final cup, Rainbow Road.

Everyone loves a good Rainbow Road.

Each game has its own version of Rainbow Road.

It's a classic.

It's a staple.

And then there's Piranha Plants in, uh, Choco Plains.

And then there's Thwomps in Bowser's Castle.

It just made no sense

... of the ride I think is good is Rainbow Road.

Rainbow Road was good, yeah.

Yeah.

Going onto Rainbow Road.

Yeah.

But, uh, yeah, other than that, you...

That's the highest compliment I can pay a piece of recorded music.

Yeah, I noticed that when he was playing.

But the worst part was he wanted to try it on Rainbow Road.

So his first time ever steering was on Rainbow Road.

I'm like, all right, kid, have fun.

And he did not completely fall off because he had a little safety thing.

But he had a lot of fun.

So that's what counts.

So he wanted to try Rainbow Road first, huh?
