Rain prayer

Allah Azzawajal sees it, and Allah knows it, and Allah hears its words.

As is mentioned that the Prophet Sulaiman Alayhis Salatu Was Salaam once during his time, uh, as a prophet of Allah, he came out with his army to make the prayer of Istisqa, to seek rain.

There's a prayer that we have in our religion that is called the rain prayer, that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam taught this ummah in times of drought and famine and when rain is delayed.

And so Sulaiman Alayhis Salaam during his time he came to make a similar prayer for rain.

Yeah, even our forest ministry say that this month will be the peak of the dry season, so they really try to put out the fire with everything they got.

And even some people, you know, in the area that affected by land fires, they have this, in Indonesia we call it Solat Istisqa, or, like, uh, the prayer of calling for the rain as another, you know, measure to help in relieving this dry season.

AP correspondent Charles de la Desma reports South Sumatra Province in Indonesia has held a mass Islamic prayer for rain.

Around 3,000 residents gather in Palambang to perform Salat Istisqa, a special prayer seeking rainfall as smoke reduces visibility and disrupts daily life in many regions.

The provincial governor says the prayer complements ongoing firefighting efforts, including water bombing and cloud seeding operations.

The fires, driven by prolonged dry weather and an intensifying El Nino pattern, have scorched vast areas and spread haze to neighboring countries.

Yeah, so it's called Salat Al-Istisqa.

And it's a prayer performed during times of drought, severe dry weather or water shortages to humbly ask Allah for mercy, forgiveness and beneficial rainfall.

I mean, God forbid the media would actually highlight something good once and say, oh, you know, these guys are trying.
