Well, it sounds like quite a niche subject, doesn't it, cave radio? But it's not quite so niche to the extent that there haven't been books published on it.

And so th- if this is a topic that would interest you, the RSGB have published or republished in recent years a book dedicated specifically to cave radio.

So if it's something that interests you, then that, uh, book I presume is still available, so could well be worth hunting out.

The thing that interested me was what antenna were they using? Because if the wavelength is 2,200 meters, then a half wave dipole is gonna be over a kilometer long, 1,100 meters, which is a bit over two-thirds of a mile.

I finished my two major editing, book editing jobs.

Those will be, uh, available from the, uh, UK National Ham Fest.

That's the RSGB handbook and the, uh, uh, yearbook.

And as you'll also see, Colin has very kindly put a, a piece about, uh, the book I wrote on an introduction to contesting, uh, on the ICQ website.

Such units are not currently available commercially at an affordable cost, so the benefits of volunteer design and construction work by cavers with electrical engineering and amateur radio backgrounds has been considerable, it says.

The RSGB Board is pleased to announce that following its meeting on the 22nd of August 2026, Graeme Smith, Golf 4 November Mike Delta, has been appointed Chair of the Board.

This appointment forms part of a planned and orderly leadership transition agreed by the Board.

So that was, you know, really cool and nice.

And then, like I said, you know what happened? You know, he kind of took miles under under his wing and I was actually surprised to see the RSGB was there, had a presence there, a table.

They were selling some books.

And that was actually perfect because one thing that I really wanted to get was I wanted to get an RSGB logbook.

Now, I have to say the the current RSGB logbook, like I wanted it to have like this, like, I don't know.

I think that the ARRL logbook, it has this like nostalgic look to it.

And I really wanted the RSGB logbook to also have this nostalgic look, but it wasn't quite as nostalgic.

So RSGB, if you're listening, please make your logbook look older and more nostalgic because then I will like it more.
