I stopped getting carded at Radar movies the minute I grew my beard.

So it worked out.

Yeah, but I can think of it.

Let's move on to IPO radar news.

No radar rapid fire this week.

Feedback was very positive from that show.

It was only eight minutes long and I had some production constraints So I decided to put together a quick show with shorter segments and turn it into that timer thing and sound effects and all So if you didn't watch that show check it out.

I'm sure John also has his opinion, but, um, yeah, I, you know, we do, and UW here teach, uh, satellite meteorology, um, as you would expect given that Sims is sitting right there and we're the birthplace of weather satellites.

Um, but given what you're saying, Kim, I, I think it should be part of curriculum, and maybe our department should, you know, have a Satellite I and a Satellite II, um, to look at radar like in Radar I and Radar II.

You know, you, you look at what are these instruments, how do they work, what are the orbits, and then in Satellite Meteorology 2 you look at, okay, how are we gonna take this data to understand what the atmosphere is doing in order to make, um, an improved forecast? So yeah, I would certainly argue for that, and if you wanna take it to AMS, um, I would, uh, happy to work with you on trying to figure out how we can make sure that that gets into the undergrad programs, 'cause it is important.

Um, and you know, again, it's important to know that because, you know, satellites like, uh, MODIS, you know, the Terra, they're, you know, they're going away right now and, you know, so what do you replace with it? GEO satellite may be going away.

And the way that my non-pilot brain is like just kind of can describe it is like the green bubble thing.

radar you know it's got circles in it and stuff and like pinging and there's dots it's obviously more complex than that but sort of you get the idea it's essentially sending the necessary useful information to air traffic control who are looking at all the flights and the blips and whatever on their screen so they're able to see it and then you're sending that information and they're like okay that's that's such and such So what this means with the transponder going dark is that the plane was then flying basically blind from the ground's POV.

Radars may be able to pick up a blip, but they won't know what it is, who it is, just that it's there,

sort of.

And the thing is that is a manual control.

Oh, I love that movie.

[laughs] "'He got into a confrontation with a couple of people,' the witness told Radar.

'He took a few punches to the face.

He was obviously pretty intoxicated.' The video shows a man smacking LaBeouf in the face while another man, on crutches, hobbles over and tries to break up the fight." Jesus, Lord.

And Rip Rig and Panic went to Virgin, and that didn't happen.

Pop Group, Radar, that didn't happen.

It's like...

And so what happened with all that scene was it was written about massively before anybody heard it.

But yeah, what a strange case indeed.

This sighting is the Fortuna Radar Incident.
