Rachel Heck

Season two, episode 13 of The Golfing CEO, where we explore how far dreams drive and a dose of delusion can take us in the pursuit of the impossible.

I'm your host, Derek Belch, and I know our last episode with Rachel Heck said that that episode was probably going to be deep into the back nine of season two, whole 14, 15, 16.

We didn't know at the time of that recording, but it was just such an awesome conversation with Rachel that we just had to move it up.

So Rachel actually ended up being episode 12, and today's guest, Nick Neal, is episode 13.

And probably could change her mind tomorrow and be a fixture on LPGA leaderboards.

Please welcome Rachel Heck to The Golfing CEO.

[gentle music] All right.

Uh, we are, we are nearing the end of season two.

Today's guest knows...

Well, all well and good what I'm talking about with, uh, trying to finish strong.

Uh, I'm very fortunate to be joined by Rachel Heck, former Stanford Cardinal.

Uh, still currently one of the best amateur players in the world, which we will get to in a little bit.

Let's get to this award, because last year was the inaugural Annika Inspiration Award.

Rachel Heck, who, again, she's right out of central casting in terms of all the things that you would want this individual to embody.

Explain what it is that you're looking for in this recipient, because I'm excited for us to reveal who this year's recipient is.

What is the Anika Inspiration Award recipient? What do they display? What do they possess?

I mean, it's about introducing young women to the sport, of course, but then also taking it and doing something valuable.

And therefore, we started this award last year.

It was the first year with, like you mentioned, Rachel Heck.

And her story is very amazing, very inspiring, going from being an amazing athlete amateur player to joining the army and wanting to serve the country.
