I think three or four fatalities over the last seven days.

Uh, just terrible.

So, uh, Charles might have a, a thought or two there.

And obviously with the RAA, might ask him about the-- [laughs] is there gonna be an end in sight to fuel prices? I suspect not.

It's unbelievable where-- I know for, for diesel and petrol's not far behind this, but the price of diesel having gone up 30-odd cents in basically a handful of days just kind of incrementally over that period.

On that, we will talk about the RAA Road Safety Campaign today.

13,000 teens facing road crash reality at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

This is an annual event.

Runs across three days, in fact.

And this is where over 13,000 school students will face the realities of road trauma this week.

The RAA Street Smart High is back at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

There'd be tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of kids who have gone through, well, not kids anymore, but kids who have gone through this in their time at school, year 11 or 12, learning about the importance of road safety and driving, particularly responsibly.

Vipers FC also secured Silverway in the HPG Homes State League 2 under-18 decider.

They beat the Adelaide Hills Hawks in the RAA NPL under-18 grand final.

That produced one of the most entertaining contests of the day.

Trav, moving across to the RAA NPL, Adelaide City produced, well, one of the biggest results of the final series.

You know, is this something that has just popped up out of the blue? Well, I don't think so.

There was an RAA report, was it late November last year, saying that there was a backlog of around $2.1 billion, billion dollars that needed to be spent on our roads.

I wonder if the government has taken up that.

Where does the responsibility lie? With the feds, with the state government, with the local councils, whoever, whoever it is, it really needs to be looked into because...

Regional roads, highways, federal roads, you name them.

Even suburban streets and roads are badly in need of repair.

Back in November of last year, the RAA exposed South Australia's $2.1 billion record of low maintenance or maintenance needed on our roads.

And 10 months on, our roads don't appear to be any better.

We need the government to be planning ahead to fix these things.

We don't want those, you know, quick fix patch up jobs, because at the end of the day, it just costs taxpayers more into the long run.

And that's why we do want to see, we really support the RAA calls just to see a lifting in the road maintenance funding package that is rolled out for South Australians because, you know, it's not just the safety issue.

There's also concerns that people are putting in for reimbursement claims for pothole-related vehicle damage and it's unclear as to how much of that is also being paid out.
