Um, so how did you work on balancing that laugh out loud comedy with the high stakes horror without kind of losing the tension of what's going on in the world?

R. R. HaywardGUEST
Well, I was, I was really fortunate 'cause after, um, I, I think I'd done, I'd done The A- The Undead, Day 13, Day 14, around that mark, um, Amazon Publishing 47North were, were really keen to publish The Undead.

R. R. HaywardGUEST
So w- my agent, we were having discussions with Amazon about them taking on and, and publishing The Undead.

R. R. HaywardGUEST
Um, but by that point the material was already so massive and so big that they said, "Well, it's gonna take quite a long time to, to, to rework it to our standard, um, you know, through a traditional publishing network.

R. R. HaywardGUEST
So how about you write something else?" And I kind of said, "Well, what do you want?" And they went, "How about time travel?" I went, "Okay, I'll go and write a time travel book." So I wrote Extracted, um, thinking it would just be, you know, like a, you know, another, another project a bit like The Undead.

R. R. HaywardGUEST
It was number one in America, the UK, uh, uh, Australia, got options straight away.
