I'm not making justification.

the counterfactual is that things were better for those people.

[laughs] I do think that when people talk about the problems of Iraq, they, they do focus too much on the fact that, you know, everything was picture perfect.

Saddam Hussein was killed.

Uday and Qusay were killed.

You know, there were people...

Look at Assad.

Let's learn from the Iraq experience.

But what we did instead is like, imagine we remove Saddam Hussein, but we put Uday and Qusay in charge, right? That's what we did in Venezuela.

We could have put Edmundo Gonzalez in charge.

I think that we overestimated the ability of the regime to react and their willingness to fight for the Chavismo kind of experiment.
