So then people are talking and arguing and bantering back and forth.

And then we cut to a shot of Quint's right hand on the chalkboard.

Quint drags his fingernails down the chalkboard, and I think all of us are familiar with that sound, and we hear that sound quite vividly in the film.

That's our introduction to Quint.

He gets everybody's attention in a room.

There's a rather long take where the camera slowly moves through the crowd towards Quint.

Basically, the gist of his speech is that he'll find the shark for $3,000, but he'll kill it.

for $10,000.

Ryan, by the way, is a Coast Guard veteran.

Ryan I met through his connection with his work with the book of Quint, which is the story of Quint from Jaws.

Now, when I was first associated with the Indianapolis organization, we didn't talk about Jaws.

We didn't talk about Jaws because sharks were kind of a no-no because a lot of our survivors were still facing and feeling trauma over the shark attacks that they witnessed and experienced.

And I loved it because it had been a subject that we kind of stayed away from with the Indianapolis families for years.

But now it's time because the Jaws story honestly opened the door for me to be able to tell the Indianapolis story worldwide.

Because that movie and that Indianapolis monologue that Quint gave in the movie for a little over four minutes about the Indianapolis was true, and everybody who saw that movie remembers that monologue.

[laughs] Um, they may not have realized it was a true story, but they remember that monologue.

For anyone who doesn't know what we're talking about, it is a play written by Ian Shaw, who's the son of the British actor Robert Shaw, who played Quint in Jaws.

And The Shark Is Broken is a play set on the set of Jaws while the three actors, uh, Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw, are stuck on the boat for 20 weeks.

It's Roy Scheider, you clot-eared git.

I mean, not Shaw.

Quint, played by Robert Shaw.

He's the leader because it's his boat.

He's the captain now.

That's kind of a crime really.

But the name of the play was The Shark Is Broken, [lips smack] and it is written by Ian Shaw, whose father was Robert Shaw, who played Captain Quint in-
