You must hear people in DMs and messages and comments about how much this music means to them.

Yeah, I'm so appreciative of those that follow me and those that are willing to go along this journey.

One of the most difficult parts about this is people are so accustomed to what they are comfortable with.

And some of them have been so comfortable with me just being member of 112 and being a part of the group and so when I announced that I'm going to do individual things sometimes it's difficult for people to separate the two with the respect that you know I can do Q Parker but I'll never be away from 112 I'll never not represent 112 and so I'm just grateful that you know those that are willing to be open to hearing what a Q Parker movement And sound sounds like I want to just say thank you to everybody because I know it's not easy.

I know it's not easy.

And also, like you said, it's 30 years.

Our first song came out in 1996.

What is it that must be a big inspiration to these records?

just

not an artist, right? I'm just not an artist, right? I'm a lover of music.

And so I'm also a songwriter and a producer.

So when I hear somebody that really hits all the points, I'm like, man, I should have written that.

But then also I'll hear somebody that just delivered the melody and the ad-libs perfectly, and so I'm so attached to it, I even want to sing it.

And so I came up with this thing called Q-Versions, and it's just my take on somebody else's song.

It gives me a chance to show that I'm a fan, but it also gives me an opportunity to just sing a song that somebody else did that I like.

What would be an example of that? A great song that you'd modify and put it in your own style.

But what do you think fans miss most about that era of music?

I think the vulnerability is, uh, was, is and was missing.

Uh, I think love and romance is a part of the music that, um, everybody loved about R&B music.

If you think about the history of R&B music, it was always, uh, centered around love and relationships and romance and sensuality and sexiness and smoothness and all of those things.

And so I think when we went far away from those things, it made people want it.

And so I, along with other artists, decided that, hey, let's get back to this romance.

Let's, let's get back to this love and really make those that came before us really proud.

Hey, now, Q, tell us about it and, uh, what else are you working on?

Okay.

I get it.

Feel me? Yeah.

You feel me? Yeah.

And at this time, I will be the first person in my entire family- To go to a D1 university.

Okay.

All right.

I mean, not just church, but like all y'all Kojic.

So you immediately, was it like an immediate chemistry or? Kind

of.

I knew that something was there.

So to the point where I would, and we laugh about this still to this day, I would like intentionally mess up my nails just so that I could get another appointment on her book like two days later.

But I just think from from those occurrences, we started to develop a liking to each other.

And we just kept it kind of under wraps for about maybe 12, 13 months or so until we finally just like, all right, we can let people know that we're actually dating.

And then we got married after two years.

not even married.

And people have told me that, like, it's, you know, I'm dating this person, but then he's following this person, he's liking her pictures, he's here, he's there, and it's just so easy for somebody to just send a DM or, you know... reconnect with somebody they haven't seen in so long.

And because of that, which is why I feel like the romance and the dating and the courting has to be done because, you know, we're expecting the relationship to be microwaved.

Put it in for two minutes, it's ready, and I'm out the door.

Well, a relationship needs time.

I said, like, you got to let that thing marinate.

Because when you slow cook anything, it's the right temperature.

You can taste all the seasons.

But sometimes it is like people have a little breakdown and have to bring it back up again.

Like, yeah.

Yeah.

It was like when pandemic did [voice overlap] around that area.

You didn't know when...

You d- you didn't know what the state of music th- and how the industry or how we were going to perform-
