Spain's PASNIC detachment in Romania marked 30 days of continuous NATO quick reaction alert duty on September 7, completing 15 alpha scrambles.

Since August 7, Spanish F-18 fighters at Mikhail Koglnishinu Air Base have maintained a round-the-clock quick reaction alert posture, ready to respond to unidentified or potentially threatening air activity.

The 15 Alpha scrambles during the detachment's first operational month demonstrate the responsiveness required to protect NATO airspace along the Alliance's eastern flank.

That readiness was tested in the early hours of August 16, when Spanish F-18s scrambled after an unidentified air track entered Romanian airspace.
