Quentin Miller

know what it's like? It's like...

You listen to Quentin Miller at all?

Yes.

You listen to Quentin Miller?

I don't listen to him, but I know his pen works, fam.

I know his pen works.

What we're gonna do is break down the ghostwriter debate from a completely new angle.

What exactly makes ghostwriting so controversial? Which legendary rappers are actually some of the most well-known ghostwriters in the game? And which iconic artists have built million-dollar careers with other rappers' lyrics? We're gonna go even deeper by looking into the backstory of Drake's history with ghostwriters, including the story of one of his most notorious collaborators, Quentin Miller.

What makes Drake's use of ghostwriters way different than the rappers who came before him? Is ghostwriting actually killing hip hop, or has it been part of the rap game since the very beginning? But before all that, what exactly does ghostwriting mean?

You're not supposed to be biting and you're not supposed to be having a bunch of writers, but, you know, that's been going on since the beginning of time, like-

Meek had just dropped his second solo album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, and he claimed that [box shaking] Drake had used an uncredited ghostwriter for his feature on their collab song Rico.

But what made things even crazier is that Meek came with receipts.

He leaked the original reference track where a then unknown rapper named Quentin Miller was rapping Drake's verse with near identical lyrics and flow.

From there, the flood gates opened up.
