Queensland Department of Education

I guess that goes with old age, doesn't it? I'm in my 70s now and so I'm sort of going back.

One of the things that I did years ago when I was a much younger school teacher with the Queensland Education Department was I was involved in human relationship classes in the state high schools, particularly in the north side of Brisbane.

They were evening classes and we had parents and kids come in together and we'd talk about a whole range of topics.

Communication, family relationships, sexuality and self-esteem was a really important thing in those days that was considered to be part of the course.

That's been for six months.

Prior to that, a whole lifetime spent with the Queensland Department of Education, 40 years in the end, 34 of which were as a school principal.

Wow.

from a little one-teacher school out in Badoori on the Northern Territory border to a large, I finished in a large urban primary school.
