Qué Será, Será

I think we have a sense that, rightly so, depending on the philosopher or thinker you're talking about, that fatalism is... is itself a kind of dour stoicism, a kind of sense of, like, oh, my God, yeah, everything sucks, it's going to suck, there's nothing you can do.

But there is, of course, a happy-go-lucky fatalism, like, yeah, you know, que sera, sera, like, you know, let's just get on with it, right? And I think Stubb, I've always loved Stubb for that, you know.

Again, I don't necessarily want him to be my boss.

I'd rather he was my boss than Ahab or Flask, I'm sure, but...

... gotta come out.

Like, that is so smart, and to have Flanders have that emotional moment singing Que Sera Sera.

Like, when I watch these for this show, I tend to watch two or three in a row just to remember where I was at the time when these things came out, 'cause I do, when it was the salad days of this stuff, I do have this ability to go back and remember exactly where I was, what I was doing.

This one I remember very specifically because this has happened to me twice in my life.

Yeah.

Well, que sera, sera.

I think I'm really glad that we got to meet up.

It's been super cool to meet you and to spend time with you.

So what could I do? My tooth's in my palm, I'm gonna go have pictures taken.

I say, que sera, sera, and put the tooth in my pocket.

And honestly, I'd much rather remember God than try to accomplish the absolutely useless, impossible task of controlling reality.

But the moment where Doris Day sings Que Sera Sera, it's a really weird moment, but I guess if you have Doris Day in a movie, you might as well, you know, the immortal words of Robin Williams, let Lainey sing, let Doris sing.

But Rear Window... is the answer to a personal trivia question.

This isn't really that exciting of a trivia question, but you know I like to give you not just backstory on the movies, but backstory if I have a personal connection to the film somehow, or a long-ago memory coming back to kind of hit me in the face, not in a negative way.
