There are a couple of things I wanted to straighten out before we go on.

We think that this might have come from there, and I'm doing some analysis, and we're going to see if it's a match to Pachuca and Quarry.

We know through oral history that the Polynesians and Hawaiians went to what they call the Land of Mist and Frogs.

The Land of Mist and Frogs is part of Hawaiian legend.

I'm Kevin Yanik, editorial director of Pit and Quarry.

Today, we're going to be focusing on the mergers and acquisitions market, as some major deals have reshaped the construction materials landscape, and there's plenty of activity taking place beyond the biggest headlines.

We've got a set of special guests from FMI Capital Advisors, who are gonna walk us through the latest mega deals and discuss what's fueling activity.

So I mean, we're talking about some real mega deals taking place here in the industry of the dollar figures that we don't normally see in the construction materials space.

And because of those big deals and because of some of the other activity that's taking place out there, and we really h- saw an opportunity to kinda get somebody together, get a few folks together, and get an assessment of what's happening out there.

Like, why are these, these mega deals taking place? And to help us kinda get a better grasp and bearing on, on where we are, we tapped on our friends at FMI Capital Advisors, you know, those being George Redden, Rob Mineo, and Evan Coughlin, whose work we published in, in Pit and Quarry plenty, plenty in the past.

Yeah.

From this junction it was 132 miles to Pittsburgh and a railroad.

Besides this waterway were rough country roads leading to the railroads at Union City, Quarry, Erie, and Meadville.

There was but one way to get the oil to the bank of Oil Creek or to the railroads, and that was by putting it into barrels and hauling it.

Decided that I wanted to go into smaller businesses and, and, and saw myself a bit, as a bit of an entrepreneur.

And I wanted to get exposure to smaller businesses, so I joined a company called Prima Quarries.

Uh, worked there.

Went to my superiors at the time with the idea of what, uh, what is Afrimat now.

So we then went and we, we, we, uh, went further with our consolidation.

So we had the Lancaster and Prima merger.

We bought Malan's Quarries in the Western Cape.

We bought, uh, Denver Quarries in, in, in the Eastern Cape.
