Quantum engineering

Yeah.

China is investing heavily in quantum technology, obviously.

Is there an area where the United States needs to dominate independently? Or is quantum advantage ultimately going to come from combining the research, capital, industrial bases of the US, Europe, Japan, and other allies? What do you think?

Yeah, I think the bottom line on this is we should be working with our allies because if we all work together, the Chinese can't outspend all of us together.

Um, but I, maybe, uh, Stephan, so, um, I would just, uh, uh, tell you, um, my thinking behind those moves a little bit, and especially, um, in related to the recent, uh, acquisition as you, uh, just, uh, um, mentioned.

In fact, uh, um, what I'm doing now is not much different from what I have been doing over the past, uh, 17 years after I decided to go to Northwestern and to, um, study the, uh, ways to make quantum technology practical.

And, uh, now, uh, yes, as I said, so, uh, we started Q Фотоn just to, to have fun, but also, uh, learned a lot during, uh, that, um, short, uh, entrepreneurship process.

And, and then, uh, I got merged, uh, uh, with QCI and, uh, which actually opened, uh, um, my mind, uh, um, a little bit.

In fact, for us, we would like to hear, um, from our future customers and to understand what help, what very specific help they really need, and then we actually can design our quantum devices to meet their need.

And I, I always tell my team that, "Guys, let's not lock ourself in a room and, uh, to build the best quantum machine that we think in our mind.

Let's build useful quantum machine that can help customers." And I think this is currently, um, still a significant gap between the, the market of quantum technology and the providers of quantum technology.

So asking the right questions from both sides could really help bridge that gap.
