Qazvin

In Iran, it was the last, and that's what I argue in Iranian Leviathan, that Alamut represent, you know, the stronghold of the assassins in, um, the Caspian province of Iran.

Uh, the word Ca- um, Caspian became Qazvin, uh, after the Turks invaded because they couldn't pronounce it correctly.

So they call it Qazvin today, but it's the Caspian province of Iran on the south coast of the Caspian Sea.

And, uh, that stronghold of the assassins there at Alamut was basically the last instantiation of this esoteric Mithraic lineage that came from the Scythians originally.

And a- again, they were very strange people.
