Qāriʾ

Another person does not understand Sharia.

They don't have those tools, but they are great Hafiz and Qari.

And then somebody else could combine both.

And they're able to do something else that both of these parties are not able to do.

He's pretty much Somalian in a way.

So the Sheikh, mashallah, world-renowned Qari.

And he lives in America, but well-known all over the world.

So it's honestly an honor.

We ask Allah for protection from this.

One is a martyr, one is a Qari and Alim and have his Quran and the other one is a philanthropist, a generous person who has well spent in the path of Allah.

But it is not accepted because the intention was impure.

Somebody asked one of the Salafi Salihin, Who is a sincere person? Who is a person who has Ikhlas-un-Nihil? I see the response.

You acquired knowledge so that you might be called a scholar.

And you recited the Quran so that you might be called, he is a Qari.

And such has been said.

And orders will be passed against him.

So when I'm leading Salah, say I have the intention that I will recite, say, 20 Ayats.

But the minute I start reciting, when I've done two or three ayat, the thought comes into my mind that I am doing this to please the people, not to please Allah.

I am doing this so people will say, oh mashallah, what a beautiful Qari, what beautiful Qara.

So this thought comes in my mind that I am doing this to please the people, not to please Allah.

So they said, no, we are sending you to a room with one person, his name was Hijazi, and the other person was Islamuddin.

Both of them were Hafiz Kulli Quran, and one of them was Qari as well.

And their group was basically, all of them were either Qari or Hafiz Quran.

And they were from either Afghanistan, Tajikistan, even some of them were Iranians, like Iran-born people.

So when I ended up over there, it was very tough for me because it was very new world for me.

And the very first three described in the hadith as rajul, right? Three men who are going to be thrown into the hellfire are who? A shaheed, a martyr, someone who died in jihad.

The qari and the one who studied the Quran, recited the Quran and the scholar described as one.

The third person is the wealthy donor, right? Someone who had money and spent it in charity.

On the day of judgment, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala asked every single one of them What did you do? And the one who dies in jihad, the man who dies in jihad, Ya Allah, I did jihad for your sake.

And Imam al-Ghazali, what really prompted his fear was two hadith.

The first hadith is in Sahih Muslim in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ He talks about the first people to be judged on the Day of Judgment There are three people The first is the Mujahid The second is the Alim or in some narrations the Qari, the reciter And the third is the philanthropist, the one who gives a lot of sadaqah, charity And each of these three individuals They say, I fought in jihad for your sake.

I taught the people Qur'an for your sake.

I gave in sadaqah for your sake.

Which is why the Salaf, they will say, that that which I recite is from the words of Allah, it's the speech of Allah.

But the sound, It's from the Qari.

It's from the one that's reciting it.
