Voting closes on September 15th.

There are actually two elections going on, one for the PSF board and the other for the newly created Packaging Council.

We'll link to the detail pages as well as the interviews tag on the Python blog that has interviews from most of the candidates and links to their ask-me-anything sessions.

So if you wanna learn a little bit about the people before you vote, there's all sorts of information there.

He has been continuing his work on standards and making things reproducible but also safe.

We talked about it very recently on the show.

He's involved in a, a variety of PEPs that we covered there, and he also worked on one, PEP 770, which I actually discuss a little bit more with upcoming guest Seth Larson, who's the PSF security developer in residence.

They both worked on this.

I honestly, I haven't done enough with LinkedIn lately.

Though I can tell you, I do frequently get... hey, your colleagues at the Python Software Foundation are doing X, Y, and Z.

And could you connect me with somebody? Because I put that I'm a PSF fellow on my LinkedIn.

Oh, now they all think I work for the PSF.

Uh, this is the one non-webby, uh, thing on here, but could have a web implication.

So the Python Software Foundation has announced RISC-V support is now officially supported by CPython.

Why would anyone care? Uh, so I'll get into that.

Uh, so RISC-V is a, a CPU architecture, uh, and it's technically...

so at this point your your youtube channel is seven years old you have more than one thousand videos kudos on that by the way Thank you.

But I probably assume that you got attention from the Python Foundation or people there.

Do they know about you? Do they sponsor you sometimes? Like, what's the relationship?

No, I actually never got any contact from there.

Candidates for the Python Software Foundation Board of Directors have been published.

They've got a list of nominees of people who are running for positions on the Python Software Foundation Board.

And if you thought that the Python Foundation was already incredibly political, DEI marketing efforts, banning users for laughing at the wrong SNL sketches, that was a real thing.

Brace yourself.

Someone else mentioned an SNL sketch.

He said, oh, yeah, that was pretty funny.

And so they banned him because you're not allowed to find things that were meant to be funny, funny, and still be in the Python Software Foundation.

It's hard to get much more cancel culture or whatever you want to call it than that.
