Purah

God now is speaking to Gideon and he's trying to encourage him about what is ahead.

God now said to Gideon, but if you're afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah, your servant, and basically say, go and overhear what they are saying and all of that.

Guess what? Gideon went.

You didn't see what just happened.

Yet, they feared God more than Pharaoh and chose to obey him.

Purah and Shiphrah were accountable, not only for themselves, but for all Hebrew midwives.

Their handling of this terrible dilemma was crucial.

They couldn't kill or order other midwives to kill the babies.

Now look at how God is loving this man.

Gideon, I want you to grab your servant, Purah.

I want you to go down next to the enemy camp.

You know where that spring of hair, I want you to go even further.

He leads him to a specific tent, to a specific dreamer, a specific interpretation of the dream, to give him a specific message directly from God through somebody else.

Why didn't God just tell him? You ever think about that? No, say, God, I'm going to use somebody else.

I want you to go down, get your servant Purah.

They go down to this tent.

That night the Lord said, Get up, go down into the Midian camp, for I have given you victory over them.

But if you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah.

Listen to what the Midianites are saying, and you will be greatly encouraged.

Then you will be eager to attack.

So Gideon took Purah and went down to the edge of the enemy camp.

The armies of Midian, Amalek and the people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts.

Their camels were like grains of sand on the seashore, too many to count.

exactly and then you're like hey i'm bonus dad what's up

yeah The Purah believed that the semen of the father creates the fetus and that the prayers of other men could nourish the fetus, creating the carnival.

Huh.

I

So this is Judges 7:10-11, um, and this is what I was talking about when, um, Gideon and, Gideon and his army were getting ready to go up against the Midianites.

So starting at verse 10: But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.

Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outposts of the armed men who were in the camp.

When I'm, when I'm looking at this, what's coming to my mind is what if Gideon tried to pretend like he wasn't scared? So this, this passage goes on

College football is back.
