NDP leader, Avi Lewis, said, "Privatizing airports is a terrible deal for travelers, workers, and the public purse." CUPE, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, is warning the federal government against handing control of Canada's major airports over to private investors, saying privatization will mean higher costs for passengers and more pressure on airport workers.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada came out against it as well.

But what is delicious about all of that is the fact that public pensions are invested in this effort.

Brian Lilley points out in the Toronto Sun, "The Canada Pension Plan is a part owner of Groupe ADP, which operates Charles de Gaulle.

Despite this decision, the Bank of Canada continued using scab workers.

PSAC has filed another legal complaint over the employer's continued use of scabs, all the while workers continue to walk the picket line.

To find out more about what's at stake for these workers and how the use of scabs affect all workers in Canada, I'm joined by Alex Silas and Pat Tessier.

Alex Silas is the national executive vice president of PSAC.

It's important to note that Alex first became a member of PSAC in 2010 when he was hired at, of all places, the Bank of Canada as a security officer.

From there, he became a shop steward, then vice president of his directly chartered Local 71250, and he's now the NEVP of PSAC.

And Pat Tessier, he's the vice president of the local and security officer for over 10 years.
