Public Health Collaboration

Um, and something slightly different.

I, as many of you all know, I'm, um, a trustee of a charity called the Public Health Collaboration, uh, a charity which is devoted to improving the nation's metabolic health.

And I've met all sorts of fascinating people through that, not the least of which is, is young James, who one might describe him as a metabolic dentist, in fact.

I'm not sure whether that's a, a title you've ever assumed, James.

Certainly in the United Kingdom, me and some of the other doctors were trying to form a sort of collaboration together.

Someone called Sam Feltham has put together something called Public Health Collaboration.

And so there's a few doctors, some of us in the media, which also helps to get the message out myself.

I've seen Malhotra and 10 others have got together to try and... challenge some of the existing dietary guidance.

The composition of our diet can influence our energy balance.

Now, over the twenty-year period between 2003 and 2023, the Public Health Collaboration from the UK identified seventy-one randomized control trials comparing low-carb and low-fat diets in terms of weight loss.

Out of those seventy-one, thirty-nine found a statistically significant difference between the two groups.

In other words, the findings weren't likely to be due to random chance.

Yeah.

He spoke at a Public Health Collaboration conference in the UK.

He was an airline pilot, had a heart attack while he was flying the plane.

Uh, came back to the UK, had a, a CT, uh, angiogram which showed s- uh, significant stenosis in one coronary artery and just sub-threshold for stents for two others.
