But I do see your point about why it's not necessarily the best idea to try and do it by half measures, because the longer that public consultation processes drag on, uh the less the most affected people are uh are taking part in those discussions and the more the people who have the resources to do the long-term lobbying come in and in this case we've got a subsidy that is greatly benefiting wealthy people and they're going to be the ones who can show up to these public meetings you know month after month, year after year, especially if they're gaining a big financial benefit from it and they are already financially well off and their time isn't consumed with things like helping out with the younger generations of their family, like a lot of the more struggling households might be.

i challenge anybody if you can like if you're a young person like us well i'm 47 almost 48 so i'm not really young um that's young for a public hearing yeah yeah i went to a public consultation in the city of vancouver and it was i mean first of all it was two o'clock in the afternoon on tuesday So who's showing up to that? And I was the youngest person in the room by 20 years at least.
