Proverbs 2

It's like 2 or 3 in the morning or something like that, just an ungodly hour to be on.

But I was reading Proverbs 2, and this is how the Lord saved me, and I just want to share it.

Verses 1 through 6.

My son, if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you to make your ear pay attention to wisdom, incline your heart to discernment.

It just suggests that Nephi truly did come out of this ancient biblical environment where they would have had this, this sense.

All right.

So for the reading for today, there's also Proverbs 4, uh, Proverbs 15 and 16, Proverbs 22, and you'll get lots of nourishment as you read these.

Again, look for the themes of how are people being invited to fear the Lord, which means to be covenantally relational to him, to be reverentially awe, uh, to him.

People are invited to listen to wise people in their lives, like parents, church leaders, and to symbolically see wisdom as the tree of life, the divine feminine that is like the nourishing mother that will lead us back into God's presence.

Be they of weight sufficient or otherwise it is not ours to judge and determine, only what difficulties there are which as yet withhold our assent till we be further and better satisfied, I hope no indifferent amongst them will scorn or refuse to hear.

First therefore whereas they allege that wisdom doth teach men every good way, footnote Proverbs 2 verse 9, end footnote, and have thereupon inferred that no way is good in any kind of action unless wisdom do by scripture lead unto it, see they not plainly how they restrain the manifold ways which wisdom hath to teach men by unto one only way of teaching, which is by scripture.

The bounds of wisdom are large and within them much is contained.

Wisdom was Adam's instructor in paradise.
