Provel cheese

Let me tell you something about Matthew at Steel Toasted.

Uh, I love their, uh, roast beef and Provel.

That's usually what I get when I go there.

And I've been reaching out to some of the, uh, restaurants and the sandwich shops on the Hill for Gobble Bowl.

No, even St., St. Louis is like, yeah, St. Louis is similar to Chicago.

I know the Provel thing's kinda, that one's kinda weird, but like I also have had it.

It was fine.

I didn't like love it or anything.

Okay.

Uh, you've got your Provel pizza in St. Louis.

All of, like...

Anything that's got a tradition behind it, I think.

What it doesn't necessarily get to be is the best pizza, which is what we are determining here.

But if it's just what is a pizza, again, if Rome can give me an open-faced ham sandwich and call it a pizza, Altoona can put a different kind of cheese on it.

Now, there's another kind of pizza that uses processed cheese, a very specific processed cheese, Provel.

Are you familiar with a St. Louis-style pizza?

It's just heaven.

It is Blazin Buffalo chicken, pepperoni, bacon, Provel, and Kojak cheese with lettuce, onion, and creamy hot sauce.

Jesus.

Put gooey butter cake on top of, like, the bread should be gooey butter cake.

Put Provel on

Yeah, it's pretty good.

I mean, we could do it a St. Louis style, and we could do Provel cheese, beans and toast.

You have no idea what Provel is.

So Provel cheese is a St. Louis-only thing.

Technically, it's not considered cheese.

Um, had my Imo's pizza on Friday, by the way.

Uh, for those of you, uh, who've ever been to St. Louis, it's this, uh, cracker crust thin pizza with a gooey cheese on it they call Provel, and some people love it, and some people hate it.

I choose to love it.

Had some, uh, toasted ravioli.
