Protestant Ascendancy

So William's distracted by like the rest of the nine years of war he's fighting in Europe and the parliament just uses this to go back on.

Again, going against the will of the king to go back and like... seize Catholic lands and bring in this is where you know the classic penal laws of Catholics can't hold public office they can't have any jobs with the military can't own land really over a certain amount so this is really what the Orange Order is celebrating it's this big shift from like the 1700s is the Protestant ascendancy the oppression of Catholics and like the fully taking of Catholic land and protestant dominance over catholics and this is what they're really celebrating not really like the glorious battle of the boyne that you know was an important battle but didn't really settle anything but it's the ultimate oppression, I suppose, of Catholics.

Yeah.

And they like celebrating that by marching through Catholic neighborhoods.
