Protective factor

So it's important to look at it each time differently and each person individually.

But there's some collective shared experiences that we've learned from our community that we're seeing some patterns here around the time that our kids are most vulnerable and also the protective factors that we can put into place around this.

Well, before we move on,

let's just double down on a sense of how common this is.

Why is it so

important that we start having these conversations with our kids? It's a protective factor.

When we think about all the different protective factors in terms of what can we do to support our kids through these tricky times, having a way to communicate with your child that allows them the chance to come to you, not feel judged, not fear that they're going to over-worry you, not fear that they're going to give you extra stress.

If you lay that platform and that foundation in a way that gives them the opportunity to come to you, then that's a really good first step.
