We are back for part two on the INTENSIFY trial in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.

We welcome back the wonderful Professor Simon Crabb and Dr. Sarah Chamberlain from University Hospitals in Southampton.

where they work as medical oncologists in urological cancers.

In part one, please go and check it out, where we set the scene for the intensified trial.

Quick reminder for those who haven't heard, this is a trial where newly diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer patients are then put on combination LHRH analogues with an ARPI treatment of choice.

And if they don't reach a nadir PSA of 0.2 or less at approximately six months, they are then randomized to the addition of docetaxel chemotherapy or not.

Really simple premise, really clever premise.

This is the latest in oncology.

Next, AbbVie has announced positive top-line results from the Phase 3 Cervino trial, evaluating etimenic versus standard available therapies in relapsing or refractory multiple myeloma.

The objective response rate was 74.0% versus 45.7%, with a 60% reduction in the risk of progression or death.

Next, the randomized stamina trial evaluated a 12-month supervised lifestyle program for 700 men receiving antigen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer across 15 NHS hospitals in England.

The program combined exercise, dietary advice, and behavioral support.

Today, we're going to learn a little bit about radiation therapy as it relates to prostate cancer.

My name is Christian, and I'm a radiation oncologist, and I'm here with...

I, Anisa Ahmed, and I'm also delighted to be a radiation oncologist, and I am at the VA Medical Center in Miami, and I treat lots of patients with prostate cancer.

So what we're going to do in this podcast is we're going to start with sort of the patient experience, bringing them from sort of the consultation through what we call a simulation.

And we'll sort of talk a little bit about that as we go through it.

And with that, we will get started.

We've had patients, exactly what you said, Elle, that don't tell their family about Really, what's going on? You know, I come from an Italian descent family from South Philly.

And we didn't, as I said, my grandfather died of metastatic prostate cancer.

I probably didn't know that at the time.

I just knew that grandfather was in a hospital bed in the living room.

What's always talked about in medicine is if you have a genetic mutation that could lead to prostate cancer in this situation, you can never be denied health insurance because of a genetic mutation like that.

But you actually can be denied life insurance if there's a documented genetic mutation.

So our genetic counselors do a fantastic job of explaining to patients and their family members what the possible risks are of doing genetic testing, because if we're not paying attention, and we say a man diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer found to have a BRCA gene, let's shotgun approach test all the people in our family, our children for this genetic mutation, there could be implications for them for things like life insurance, you know, going forward.

So it's not always a no brainer to get testing like that done, because there can be implications that are that are important to talk about upfront before that testing is done.

Most people don't know this popular food is linked to prostate cancer risk.

I'm going to quote it.

It says a national survey found that only 20% of men knew the reported association between daily consumption and prostate cancer.

After learning about it, 66% said they would likely try to avoid dairy products.

Listen carefully.

A meta-analysis, that means looking at a lot of studies, 32 studies, associated higher consumption of dairy products, milk, cheese, with greater prostate cancer risk.

Men who consumed at least one daily serving of skim milk or low-fat milk had a 19% higher risk of prostate cancer than those who rarely drank it.
