And Professor Tanaka from way back went off and Buddha Khan and did a charity and stuff.

And so he calls me up and says, I got this movie on the stunt coordinator.

And he goes, I got the perfect part for you.

The fourth match, we go even further back in time.

This is from July 23rd, 1973, and it's tag team champions Haystacks Calhoun and Tony Garea, and they are facing off against the team they won the titles from, Mr. Fuji and Professor Toru Tanaka.

They would also end up losing those titles, so to that same team.

So they won the belts May 30th, 1973, and lost them September 11th, 1973.

But the team of Haystacks Calhoun and Tony Garea, they end up losing the first fall but coming back to win the second fall by DQ and the final fall after a splash from Haystacks Calhoun against, uh, Toru Tanaka.

Against Tanaka, they get the, uh, third fall and win the match.

So interesting just seeing a match that is now well over 50 years old with, uh, Calhoun and Garea.

I believe he won the tag titles five times, and it's after Fuji's, um, first win and before his second.

The supporting cast is another treasure chest of familiar faces.

Vincent Price lends the entire production a little bit of horror royalty, and Key Luke and Robert Picardo and Professor Toru Tanaka drift through the madness to leave an impression as well, but the real stars, without question, are the practical effects.

the entire sequence inside the chinese butcher shop i think remains as one of the movie's grand displays of rubber slime puppetry and just inspired bad taste with dead chickens animal carcasses severed meat and just an extremely unhappy pig returning to life in a scene that is equally disgusting and hilarious Screenwriter Terry Black was the older brother of Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black, who also appears briefly in the movie as a police officer.

And actually, Terry's original screenplay began as a student writing project before eventually being purchased and then produced.

Was his first name? Greg King Curtis.

He got his nickname because there was a wrestler called King Curtis back in the 60s when wrestling was huge in this country with the likes of Professor Tanaka.

Professor.

His name

was not Professor Tanaka.

And he came in the wrestling ring.

There was Spiros Arian, the man of a thousand holes, who was at the mid-mark.
