Prix Marcel Boussac

It's less on the filly side.

They will have got a mile in either the Primarse or Boussac.

Or the Phillies-Marlot-Newmarket.

But yes, it's kind of a calendar thing, really.

This is, I mean, I will always watch the Friday evening, but more with a kind of view to the future rather than genuine excitement.

But this is one of the races of the weekend from a European point of view.

Green Empress, if we start with her, was very, very good in the Prix Marcel Boussac on our day.

And that's usually a race that the form you can... take that to the bank in terms of what happens the following year that's potentially a bit more of a of a clue to three-year-old form but Sun Goddess has been remarkable this year she's just carried on turning up and winning and winning and winning they even dropped her into a sales race we have these kind of auction house races which are worth a lot of money and then dropped her into one of those York to win that she's won three grade ones and the funny thing about her is she will at some stage in the run whatever the configuration of the track whatever the distance we have to remember she's not actually gone far yet um she will look like she hits a flat spot she'll look like she's in trouble but she just is so strong through the line um i'm a massive fan of amusingly for for francis graffar and for uh for judd mont she's undoubtedly france's best chance of having a winner uh over the course of the two days um and i think at some stage she's going to make some goddess look quite slow but um whether she's still in front of the line i'd love to think that amusingly can can can just get the run of the race and hold on but some goddess will be so strong at the line um and as i say uh a She hasn't yet been a mile.

It's always such a brilliant day's racing.

And I got off to an absolute flyer for Joss O'Brien and the Thoroughbred Racing Corporation when Green Empress won the Prix Marcel Boussac Group 1.

And in fairness, it's another massive compliment, isn't it, to Sun Goddess, the way her form has gone this season.

You have a total of five runs for Green Empress.

It's 12:30 will be the first live race.

It's the Prix Marcel Boussac.

It is for the two-year-old fillies.

Uh, won last year, of course, by Diamond Necklace, who we'll be talking about later on in the Prix d'Arc de Triomphe.

It's great to get that big field, which gives the lads the opportunity to give us an extra place.

Uh, I saw the s- second string.

Remember a couple of years ago in the Prix Marcel Boussac, Francis Graffard had two fillies in that two-year race in the Aga Khan silks, and one was Zaragana, and she was the next big thing.

Yeah.

So yeah, no, I'm happy to take him to this race.

And I mentioned Amusingly in the Marcel Boussac.

Um, Colin Keane spoke quite, quite glowingly I thought about her yesterday.

You've got Queen of the Day in the race as well.

[laughs] Yeah.

No, but, uh, I mean, uh, uh, this just because of, uh, reading the pedigree of the filly properly and, uh, and what she's showing.

Her behavior at the races, uh, um, I, I, I was making a mistake, and I didn't want her to, to see her beaten in the Boussac because she didn't stay the trip.

Okay.

So she's at a reasonably short price would be my nap of the weekend.

And then maybe a sneaky one would be in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Sunday, the French two-year-old fillies championship race.

Christopher Head has a very good batch of two-year-olds this year, particularly in the Distaff division.

And a horse of his called Data had bad luck in the big race trial for this, the Prix de Marne, and only finished third.

And I think if you can get an each-way price about data, I know Christoph Hebb was particularly sweet on her earlier in the season.

And he's got a lot of good yardsticks to work her against in his stable.

Well, I don't want you to give away all your tips, James, because looking back at last year from a handful of tips for the weekend, you had Caballo de Mar, a 7-2 winner, Tennessee Stud, even money, Diamond Necklace, even money, and Barnavara at 9-1.
