JB's grandfather, A.N. Pritzker, established dozens of trusts, and in 2008, the New York Times declared the Pritzkers were pioneers in using tax loopholes to shelter their holdings from the Internal Revenue Service.

And when Penny Pritzker got caught not reporting 134 million that she forgot to put on her income tax, what was the penalty, Squirrel? She became the commerce secretary, and here we are, 31 trillion later.

Do businesses wanna stay in Illinois, and do you think that the Illinois economy is doing well?

Only the businesses that have a Pritzker accountant.

For the Pritzkers, avoiding taxes has been a family affair.

The only time you should open your mouth is questions like this.

How is it that in a society where the Pritzkers, for example, have not only been notoriously generational tax fraud cheats, corrupt control agarchs, How in the frack is there one moron willing to vote Democrat after side-settle Obama, after the daily short-in-the-pants syndicate, what they did to our city, and after your useless fat ass, since you became governor, drove up taxes $60 billion, lied, cheated, and stole.

How is anybody still a fracking Democrat? That's the only question I found interesting.

Along with his sons, he had built one of the greatest American business empires almost from nothing, a single Chicago hotel that became Hyatt, and then an industrial holding company that became Marmon, eventually stakes in TransUnion and Royal Caribbean.

By any legal, financial, or governance measure, the Pritzkers had done everything right.

Trusts, structures, succession built from the start, all of that had been laid out very well.

40 years later, one of those grandchildren opened her trust documents and didn't like what she found.

So when I say differentiation is the real balance sheet, I mean it very directly.

Every family enterprise is already carrying this number or a differentiation number, whether it's written down anywhere or not.

The only choice you actually have is whether you find out what it is on your own terms in a more measured, deliberate space over time and with some most likely hard work, but doable, or whether you find out the way the Pritzkers did in public, maybe in court and all at once.

Pritzker was unhappy with this settlement, and at that point, he called in and triggered this federal case.

Pritzker's Group Venture Capital was an investor in Outcome Health, and after the civil settlement was reached in 2018, the Pritzkers and their co-investors received a controlling equity stake that was worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

So the company was then rebranded as Patient Point, and they went on to sell for billions in 2025.

And the Pritzker family did not lose.

They won spectacularly a lot of money.

And now they are likely going to win again if the current DOJ doesn't unravel the actions that the Biden DOJ set into motion.

So the Biden DOJ's prosecution set the stage for a criminal restitution proceeding on top of the civil windfall that the Pritzkers have already collected.

The government is seeking restitution, potentially totaling $400 million.
